Black August Day of Community Service

August 16th. A Neighborhood clean-up and picnic, in Anacostia.

Service is an integral part of Black liberation and has always been a pillar of liberation movements led by Black and indigenous people. Our connection to the earth is deepened when we care for it. Our connection to God is deepened when we practice loving care over Their creation. We deserve to live in clean communities. Our wellness depends on it. And whole systems are designed to keep us living in unclean, unsafe, underserved, and under-resourced communities. It is an act of resistance for us to take the environmental wellness of our communities back into our own hands. With care and intention.

We are gathering as a tribe on August 16th to clean up our neighborhoods in Anacostia, and to map out sites of future service projects.

Bring your own mask. Gloves, trash collectors, receptacles provided. Vegan lunches by Black nutritionists and chefs will be available for purchase. We also encourage you to bring offerings (fruit, bottled juices, fresh produce, pre-packaged dried fruits and nuts/seeds are all welcome).

Please fill out the form below to participate, and encourage other brothers and sisters you know to register as well.

Sacral Chakra Sister Circle

For this iteration of the Sacral Chakra Sister Circle, we will be tapping into our Divine Feminine Power. Expanding our spiritual senses, deepening our commitment to honoring our higher selves, building tribe, and tapping into our highest selves.

We are practicing meditation, engaging in sacred rituals, incorporating sacred dance and movement, speaking mantras, and releasing that ish which no longer serves us. Wear some things that make you feel powerful, beautiful, feminine, and Divine. That dress, those waist beads, that ankle bracelet, that lapa, and that headwrap. sis

Part of our work this evening is releasing that no longer serve us, allowing space for our higher selves to blossom. Another element is tapping into our Divine creativity and creative power. And yet another part of our work for the night is reframing our sexual and sensual energy as truly sacred.

We are asking a $10 donation to hold this space and make offerings to the practitioners who will be guiding us for the evening. If you want to pay it forward, we are accepting $17 donations to hold space for another sister in our tribe; we will make sure a sister who may be low on resources atm can join the Sister Circle. TO REGISTER: https://www.herbandtemple.com/ritual

This is a safe space for Black women. White and non-Black allies can support by making a donation to sustain our spaces.

This is a grown event; however, we welcome our (mature)younger sisters 16 and up. It is important that they are embarking on Divine Feminine paths as well.

If you have any questions, please DM us @herbandtemple on IG.

Note: better not bring your kids DaveChappelle voice

Note: Ladies leave your man at home Destiny’s Child Voice this event is only for women

We look forward to tapping into our Divine Feminine energy with you. See you soon <3
